Thinking About Getting a Tattoo
Getting a tattoo is a big decision because they are difficult to remove: impossible without professional help. The ‘do it yourself’ tattoo removal creams on the market have shown no medical proof of their claimed ability to fade your tattoos, much like bogus infertility treatments. You may never need to resort to removal, with the tattoo as a bit of fun, or proud reminder of your beliefs, interests or your loved ones.
Are you certain?
Before committing to a tattoo, it’s worth asking yourself some questions. Are you sure about this particular tattoo? Can you see yourself being happy with it in 20 years from now? If the tattoo espouses a belief, affiliation or love for a partner which you later renounce, this can be a problem which later leaves you seeking a tattoo removal procedure. This is more painful than a cosmetic procedure such as laser hair removal, and skin can sometimes become blistered as a result. However, tattoo removal technology has now advanced to the stage that damage and scarring is minimal (with proper equipment and training).
Is it right for you?
Tattoos aren’t for everyone, but if you are set on a tattoo and have considered it thoroughly, it may be right for you. The procedure itself is about as painful as small cuts or burns while the tattoo is inked, with a feeling of sunburn for a few days afterwards. Be sure to find a reputable, trustworthy tattoo artist to minimize the risk of infection or disappointment.
